| Intended to be a bit different than Mr. Yang's topic about close to the beam passages. One of my favorites: Tatiana Groshkova, 1990 USA-USSR meet. Everyone's favorite headcase...too bad she never was on a major team. |

| I'll post the obvious heartbreak, Yang Bo's 1989 World EF beam routine:

| One of the few gymnasts able to compete a layout full and a layout in the same routine and yet display great artistry: He Xuemei 1993. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPh7Nhh5cTI
As if the mount wasn't enough, there is much more originality afterwards... Kelly Garrison 1988 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMA5f00Mcs8&feature=related
Somebody knows other video of her doeing the same mount? I can't find many of her routines. |

| Kelly Garrison-Steves has always been one of my favorite beam workers because of her originality. It's too bad she competed in an era when Americans (and other Western gymnasts) were consistently underscored. |

1988 US Nationals EF BB Pity she didn't perform her eponimous mount there. I haven't found any other routines that include the full twisting BWDS salto mount. In fact there's not much Garrison material on Youtube. | Certainly was unique...little margin for error with either. Heck, you can't find much USA stuff prior to '92 or so. |

Yeah, too bad we can't have that kind of originality nowadays. Just add that to the long list of reasons why I prefer the older stuff. |
