What forum is complete without the obligatory 'introduce yourself' thread?

I'll start.

I'm 'thepianist'—a guy BTW— and I am a student who is torn between engineering and chemistry (chemical engineering? ). I also (as my name implies) am an amateur musician who plays piano, guitar, and composes some, and is terrible at all three.

I have broad interest though, ranging from music, gymnastics, science, physical fitness, good diet, gaming, and above all, computer geekery. I'm a Mac/Unix person, so don't come to me with Windows problems.

The only organized sports I ever played was soccer (football for you Europeans ), which I totally sucked at. I wish I could have played baseball in all the time I wasted in soccer, but hindsight is 20/20 and there weren't a whole lot of good baseball opportunities at the time. I'm a rabid fan of gymnastics, baseball, football (American), Formula 1 (here's to Schumi winning again! ), and competitive swimming.

I enjoy reading and listening to good music in my spare time.

So I am Martina. Some of you might know me from other places online - probably mostly from Gymnastics United and the International Gymnast forums.
I`m in Germany and a huge fan of gymnastics though I never was a gymnast myself. I got to see it on TV and got addicted right away. Over time this lead to contact with other fans, started to go to see competitions live, then starting to take photos and stuff. I am still taking photos and try to still improve on it.
Apart from gymnastics I am very interested in web- and graphicdesign and generell photography.
I love travelling, and I am kind of into aviation too (I think airports and planes just have something fascinating around them).
Otherwise I pretty much enjoy the usual stuff like meeting friends, surf the net, books, music,......

My name is Sue and I'm one of the oldest people on the IG Forum. I'm an American expat living in Germany, though in a different part of the country from Martina. I did gymnastics starting with a beginning tumbling class in 6th grade. When I was in high school, I was a Class 3 gymnast and moved up to Class 2, though I quit my high school gymnastics team right after getting moved up because of a poor coach. But I took recreational classes until I had to stop doing gymnastics at 19 because of back problems. But I've been a gymnastics fan since seeing Cathy Rigby on TV back in 1970, though my interest waned somewhat after 2000. I'm definitely an old-school fan.

In addition to gymnastics I like to travel, ski, read, knit, and do long-distance running.

My name is Meredith from Australia. I am from Sydney, New South Wales, working as electronics engineer -working on planes onboard systems.
Now living in Europe in the French southern city of Toulouse.

Former gymnast, I enjoy ... gymnastics as well as travel, hikes, music -only good one! -
Meeting friends and my 'special' passion... I am myself a private/business aircraft pilot.
